Continues To Reshape Squad With Signing Of Rice
Saturdays game at Whitehawk marked the
arrival of new signing Kane Rice, with Scott
Porter continuing to reshape his playing squad
as the club adjusts to Ryman South football.
Rice, 22, is a quick and skilful winger and
joins the club from Ryman Premier side Horsham
FC, where he has made fifteen appearances this
season.
An Eire international from U14 to U17 levels,
Kane began his career at Crystal Palace and
Cambridge City before moving on to Maidstone
United. He played a major role in VCD Athletic’s
promotion to the Ryman League in the 2008/09
season but suffered a serious knee injury the
following year.
On regaining fitness, he signed for Dover
Athletic after impressing on trial in August
2010, playing a number of games in the
Conference South before moving on to spells with
Maldon & Tiptree, Maidstone United and
Chatham Town.
