| Hythe just
edged out in tight contest...... Hythe started this game well with early chances for both Mike Barrett and Billy Swallow, however Lordswood embarked on a dominant next twenty minutes, Aaron Sutcliffe powering home the Lordswood opener. Hythe looked to get back in the game, with Dean Jones going close on the rebound from Adam Boxer's free-kick. Hythe's revival continued with George Olley and Swallow both going close from a corner. Lordswood ended the half with two shots whistling over the Hythe crossbar and a good free-kick that Tony Allen held onto. Hythe started the second-half in assured fashion with Jones going close and Boxer flashing an excellent cross across goal, just evading a decisive touch from a fellow Hythe player. The home side finally got a deserved equaliser when Jack Moran released Mike Barrett clear on goal to slot home past the Lordswood keeper. Just a minute after the restart Lordswood had retaken the lead, an amazing strike from Tom Box giving Allen no chance at all. Hythe looked to bounce straight back themselves, Swallow almost finding Barrett and substitute Alex Skippen with a couple of good throughballs. Skippen went close with a good set-piece, before Hythe's final chance fell to Moran who following a good one-two with Barrett failed to convert, Lordswood claiming a hard-earned three points. | Winning run
comes to an end...... This game was always going to be a tough proposition with Deal flying high second in the league, the game would be a highly competitive and end to end encounter. Mike Barrett and Jon Driscoll provided a string of good balls into the box in the opening stages, but Deal held firm. At the other end Deal were finding their feet, however debutant Arron Harmon was enjoying a confident debut in the Hythe goal. Unfortunately there was nothing Harmon could do when Jordan Miller bundled home an uncleared corner after thirty minutes. Hythe looked to bounce back via a Sam Conlon free-kick and a shot from Dan Scorer, but trailed at the interval. Deal started the second-half strongly, Jack Moran having to clear a corner from the home side off the line. Just after the hour mark Sam Frost fired home from the edge of the box to double his side's lead. Hythe seemed spurred on, Jon Driscoll going close before George Mortley managed to score from a goalmouth scramble. The game ended in typical end to end fashion with both sides enjoying clear chances on goal. For Hythe, the best chance fell to Billy Swallow who forced a good save out of the home keeper. This was a good performance from the visitors who made a decent Deal side work hard for the three points. FINAL SCORE - DEAL TOWN - 2 - HYTHE TOWN - 1 |

| A hat-trick
of wins.....again...... After securing a hat-trick of successive victories the week prior, Hythe Town secured another hat-trick of wins, this time over local rivals Folkestone Invicta. The home side made a strong start, but found captain Matt Ford and keeper Ross Buckingham in defiant mood. Soon after Sam Conlon opened the scoring for the visitors and Hythe were up and running. Next Conlon would turn provider, pulling back a ball inside the six yard box for Stuart Daffin to convert and double Hythe's lead. Ricky Underdown extended Hythe's lead and almost scored another before unselfishly lining up Dan Scorer for a blocked shot. Buckingham's safe hands kept Hythe firmly in control before Scorer headed home Hythe's fourth just a minute before half-time to give Hythe a dream four goal lead at half-time. Unsurprisingly Invicta came out for the second-half with a point to prove, Rob Webb pulling back a goal just five minutes after the restart. Ex-Hythe first team player Roy Guiver forced home a second via a free-kick, before thankfully for Hythe the game entered a scrappy period of play. This included Stuart Daffin suffering an injury that would later lead to the player being taken to hospital due to damage to the bone tissue on his knee - best wishes Stuart. Hythe cruised through the closing stages and could have extended their lead through chances for substitute Adam Boxer and Ashley Porter. | A hat-trick
of wins........... After a hard season, Hythe Town secured their third consecutive victory and are really enjoying the last six weeks of the season. This evenly contested match had little goal action in the first-half with Jon Driscoll, Ricky Underdown and Ashley Porter involved in the best of Hythe's half-chances. However, with just over ten minutes of the first-half remaining a perfect cross from Driscoll picked out Underdown for a powerful close-range finish. Moving into the second-half the home side found their feet and after a couple of good early chances, equalised via a headed finish just six minutes into the half. Tony Allen kept the visitors in the game with some fine brave saves, one of which led to injury and substitution with twenty minutes remaining. The inured keeper would have been delighted to watch on as his team-mates claimed the three points for the third match in succession, Driscoll converting a dramatic last minute penalty. | High Five as second win follows
first.......... Hythe made a storming start to this game with Sam Conlon giving the home side the perfect start with an early goal. Hythe's lively start continued with a good shot saved from Ashley Porter, and Stuart Daffin felt hard done by to have a goal disallowed for offside. Just after the twenty minute mark Hythe grabbed a deserved second goal, Dan Cook pouncing on the rebound as the Rams' keeper spilt the initial shot. Tony Allen had little to do in the Hythe goal but dealt with anything that came his way calmly, before Dan Scorer topped the perfect half for Hythe with the third goal of the evening for the home side. Sam Conlon walked in a fourth goal as a rampant Hythe continued where they left off at the start of the second-half. Ramsgate finally settled into their game, Allen making a couple of decent saves before Nick Treadwell scored a similar solo effort to Conlon. Hythe reacted brilliantly with Conlon heading home his first hat-trick in Hythe colours. In the closing stages the visitors struck what turned out to be two further consolation goals. Both goals came from Treadwell, who became the second player in the game to claim a hat-trick, first converting a cross from the right, before a superb volley hit the back of the net, the eighth and final goal of the evening. | Hythe claim first league win of the
season.......... Folkestone had the better of the first-half with Jay Rigden enjoying some good moments to carve out several opportunities for our neighbours and rivals. Either side of half-time Hythe began to perform at both ends of the pitch, the Hythe attack stirring into life just before the interval. Shortly after the restart it was Tony Allen who was the key man for Hythe, making two fine saves to keep his side in the game. Eight minutes into the second-half Hythe took the lead, Dean Jones' through-ball releasing Billy Swallow to power home the Hythe opener. However with twenty-five minutes remaining, ex-Hythe man Ryan Strand slotted home the rebound from an Allen save. With all to play for both sides upped their game and it was Hythe who would be the side to get the crucial third and final goal, Jon Driscoll finishing a Swallow cross. Invicta thought they were set for a share of the points when they were awarded the lifeline of a penalty. However, another ex-Hythe man Scott Punton smashed his shot against the crossbar and Hythe cleared their lines. With just moments remaining, Allen made another fine save to ensure that Hythe had secured all three points in a Kent League Division 2 fixture for the first time this season. Hythe struggle against clinical Faversham.......... The first-half started in uneventful fashion, a fairly even first twenty minutes, with Ricky Underdown going the closest for Hythe. Faversham got their attacking game going with three successive attacks, the final move forcing Tony Allen into an excellent save. It was no surprise when Robert Rearden forced home a corner for the Faversham opener midway through the first-half. Three minutes after half-time Joe Leicester beat Hythe captain Matt Ford to the ball to convert the home side's second goal of the afternoon. Ford came closing to making amends shooting just wide, however Faversham finished the away side off with a third goal scored by Tommy Hill. With nothing to lose Hythe attacked with renewed effort, Dan Scorer shooting just wide before having a later shot deflected to safety. Stuart Daffin also saw a good chance come and go but the damage had already been done and the home side kept their clean-sheet intact. FINAL SCORE - FAVERSHAM TOWN - 3 - HYTHE TOWN - 0 |

| Late Holmesdale penalty denies share of the
points.......... After a slow start to this game, with Matt Ford making an early goal-line clearance, Hythe took an early and deserved lead. A fantastic run and cross from Adam Boxer picking out Jon Driscoll to head home the Hythe opener, Driscoll had already gone close with a strike hitting the post. Hythe continued to push on in an attempt to extend their lead with captain Matt Ford going close with a fine breakaway move, but towards half-time Hythe began to lose their way allowing Holmesdale back into the game. Ross Buckingham had already made a fine fingertip save over the crossbar, but the Hythe keeper was powerless to keeping out the Holmesdale forward-line from converting a quick counter-attack move that caught the Hythe defence cold. Hythe regrouped and came out for the second-half showing more of the football that had given them their lead. Another excellent run from Boxer led to a final shot rebounding off the post, before substitute Mike Barrett shot over from a good position at the end of another quick Hythe counter-attack. Next Barrett turned provider, lining up Jack Moran to fire agonisingly over from six-yards. With four minutes remaining Holmesdale cruelly claimed all three points with a debatable penalty successfully converted. George Mortley the unlucky Hythe player, the man in black awarding a penalty for handball after Mortley had the ball blasted at him from just a couple of yards. FINAL SCORE -

| Hythe Town crash out of cup in cruel
fashion.......... Tonbridge Angels
made an excellent start to this Kent Intermediate Cup 2nd Round clash,
having a goal disallowed in the early stages for offside. However,
Hythe reacted well and took an early lead after just eight minutes,
Kieran
Byrne firing home following a good through-ball from Dan Cook. The game
continued
in end to end fashion with some good chances for the home side, and for
Hythe Billy Swallow going close with a headed effort. Hythe were
continuing to turn up the pressure on their hosts, Swallow shooting
just over and Byrne heading just wide, before Angels' Liam Baker
grabbed a shock equaliser just after the half-hour mark. Hythe looked
to regain their lead, Cook shooting over after good work from Ricky
Underdown. The half ended with the home side taking the lead, Luke
Picinea chipping home over the head of Tony Allen at the end of a swift
counter-attack. Hythe started the second-half in spirited fashion and eventually grabbed a deserved equaliser, George Mortley heading home an excellent free-kick from Byrne. Both sides continued to contribute to this end to end encounter, a young Hythe side matching their hosts for strength and determination. Some dangerous crosses from the boot of Byrne went close to setting up a Hythe winner, before the visitors crashed out of the competition in cruel fashion. A clash between an Angel's forward and Hythe keeper Allen led to a penalty being awarded that Alwyn Jones made no mistake in converting. Hythe looked to fight back, but despite their persistence they could not find the equaliser. FINAL SCORE - TONBRIDGE ANGELS - 3 - HYTHE TOWN - 2 |

| Last-gasp
Barrett equaliser grabs a point..........
The hosts took the lead in this Kent League Division 2
fixture after just two minutes, taking
advantage of an early free-kick to set-up Ryan Wall to head home. The
home side had started the brighter but wasted another couple of chances
to extend their lead. For Hythe, Jon Driscoll also has a decent early
sight of goal but fired his shot just wide. Hythe had penalty claims
turned away as the officials failed to spot an off the ball shove on
Harry
Stevens.
Hythe found it hard to create any further clear-cut chances during the
first-half, good build-up play sometimes wasted with overplaying on the
final pass.
Dan Cook came the closest five minutes before the interval, when Stuart
Daffin laid
back for Billy Swallow to play Cook in on goal, a brave save from the
home keeper sending Oaks' in at half-time with their lead intact. Hythe came out in more
confident fashion for the second-half, but again it was
Sevenoaks forcing the early chances, although Tony Allen was in
confident form in the Hythe goal. Mike Barrett worked his way down the
flank, laying off for Adam Boxer's deflected shot. The game entered a
scrappy period with bookings for Daffin, Ford, and Swallow, Daffin
would later regret his actions, picking up a second yellow card to
receive his marching orders. With just a minute of normal time
remaining Boxer's shot was spilt before substitute Wayne Da
Costa had the rebound saved. Two minutes into injury-time Hythe scored
a deserved equaliser, Barrett forcing his way into the box to fire his
shot in to secure the point for Hythe. A special mention should go to Tony Allen who bravely played on after dislocating his
shoulder during the second-half. FINAL SCORE - SEVENOAKS TOWN - 1 - HYTHE TOWN - 1 |

| Storming second-half display not quite
enough..........
Hythe carved out the opening opportunity of this game in the very first minute, a good shot from recent signing Danny Cook warming the hands of the Holmesdale keeper. However, although the home side enjoyed a bright start to proceedings they suffered the early blow of a sixth minute goal from the visitors, following the interception of a Tony Allen throw. Hythe responded well as a super cross from Jon Driscoll just evaded the boot of Olley. Holmesdale doubled their lead as a slip from Ashley Porter allowed a quick break through the centre, Allen given no opportunity to get even a fingertip on an excellent finish. A succession of quality crosses from Driscoll and Olley caused the Holmesdale defence problems, Stuart Daffin going closest with a header into the keeper's arms. With the half-time whistle approaching Cook hinted at what was to come with a shot just wide of goal. The second-half was a vast improvement from the home side, beginning with a fine one on one save to deny Daffin, and another good stop from Moran. Hythe got themselves right back into contention as Cook ran at two Holmesdale defenders before powering home a goal that gave the home side hope. Driscoll's run and shot was pushed over the bar, and Barrett fired in another effort as Hythe cranked up the pressure. The visitors were still a threat as Allen made two good saves to keep his side in with a chance of a share of the points. Driscoll curled a free-kick just wide and both Porter and Ford went close with late strikes but Holmesdale held onto their lead and the three points. FINAL SCORE - HYTHE TOWN - 1 - HOLMESDALE - 2 |

| Clinical Faversham make Hythe pay...........
A good performance from Hythe Town unfortunately only produced one goal, as a clinical Faversham made Hythe pay for missed chances. The early signs in this game indicated that Faversham would be the less efficient side as plenty of possession failed to produce any real chances on the Hythe goal. However, at the other end Hythe were stirring into life with good chances for Driscoll, Moran, and Skippen. As the half progressed Hythe continued to look the more likely as strikes from Moran and Seni fired in on the Faversham keeper. Skippen went closer, playing a one-two with Olley but seeing his final shot turned around the post. Skippen was the danger man for the home side but the visitors were about to make Hythe pay for missed chances. Three minutes from half-time Faversham took the lead via an intercepted clearance, although Hythe keeper Mark Bishop did well to parry the first shot, he was powerless as the ball was dribbled round him and slotted home. Olley got the second-half off to a bright start with a good run and shot from the flank. More good wing-play, this time from Adam Boxer almost found Jon Driscoll for a back-post tap-in. Yet again, Faversham's more effective approach saw them extend the lead, Bishop beaten with a chipped finish after another interception. Just a minute later Hythe were back in the game as Skippen fired home a superb finish from a direct free-kick. Conney was involved at both ends, curling a free-kick just wide, and clearing off his own line moments later. The game ended in end to end fashion as Faversham struck the woodwork, whilst for Hythe Mortley played in Da Costa to shoot just wide. FINAL SCORE - HYTHE TOWN - 1 - FAVERSHAM TOWN - 2 |
