Fine, dry and clear night, though a touch
breezy. |

| A nice little ground that hasn’t changed much in 50 odd years, so I am told. Cover behind each goal, seats down one side. Certainly one of the better grounds in the Kent League. [And I was asked to mention that there is now a club shop -

| Only had tea so can’t really comment but the burgers looked good and tasted nice by all
accounts. |

| 32 pages, all well put together and plenty of information. All in all, not a bad read. I like the idea of a league table with home and away
form. |

Not the best of starts, with both teams giving the ball away too easily. Herne Bay had three good chances to take the lead and would have done so but for a good save by Jon Sparks and wayward shooting. But we were still in the game and we took the lead 15 minutes before half-time, Jason Brazier sending the keeper the wrong way from the spot. Bay had lots of free-kicks around the penalty area but we defended well. The second half started with us beginning to take control. Winnie played some great balls into the box and the second goal arrived from this route, after his cross was headed back across goal for Buster to bundle it over the line. Lee himself finished off things with a good finish. Dale Skelton could have made it four but Delo made a good save. A fine all round performance and a nice three
points.

| A tough call this as everyone did their jobs well, never gave up and kept working as a team. But to me, Lee Winfield just outshone everyone with his passing, crossing and general ball play, not forgetting his finish to wrap up the points [plus his dad bought me a
pint!]. |

Started off okay but got worse as the game progressed. After awarding us a penalty, he persisted in giving Herne Bay free-kicks every time they appealed. Booked Roy Godden after a little skirmish and basically lost control. Bit better in the second half and rightly sent off the Herne Bay sub after a two-footed challenge on Dale
Skelton. |
