Oldaker back at Reachfields and Murphy joins.....

Hythe Town are delighted to announce two signings.


Firstly, coming back to Reachfields is midfielder Darren Oldaker who was originally with us on loan from Gillingham two seasons ago when he played 14 games for the Cannons before returning to Priestfield. He went into the Gillingham first team for a short while before leaving for Billericay Town.


Also joining is 28 year old striker, Tom Murphy who has joined us from Isthmian Premier Division Cray Wanderers. Tom started his career with Gillingham where he had one appearance for the first team before moving to Lewes. He has also had spells with Thurrock, Farnborough, Horsham, Margate, Dover Athletic, Maidstone United, and Dartford.



One other piece of ex-player news is that Ollie Rowe who was with us at the start of the season has joined Whitstable Town. 

Steve Watt and Will Godmon win awards.....

Congratulations Steve on winning the Isthmian League South East December Manager of the Month Award.

Wynter joins Cannons....

Hythe Town are delighted to announce the signing of former Gillingham defender Tom Wynter following his release from contract by Ramsgate. A strong defender who has also had spells at Dover Athletic, Dartford & Margate.  He goes straight into the squad to play at Ramsgate on Saturday…



Tom comes in as a replacement for Ollie Rowe who has left the club due to family commitments. We wish Ollie all the best for the future and thank him for his time with us.  

Sam Blackman joins on loan...

Hythe Town have taken midfielder Sam Blackman on an initial month`s loan from Vanarama National League South side Dartford. Blackman re-joined the Darts in May after spending the previous season at Concord Rangers.


He previously played at Leatherhead and was part of the Millwall academy before joining Dartford`s equivalent as a youngster.

Two new Cannons....

The club are delighted to announce the two signings. Firstly 30-year old midfielder Danny Walder has come from Ashford United having joined them from Faversham Town in the summer. He has also turned out for Gillingham, Sheppey United, Tonbridge Angels, Dover Athletic, Herne Bay and Ramsgate.


Also joining is Nathan Gordon a 27-year old left back who joins us from Sevenoaks Town. 

Dembela Signs for Hythe....

The club are delighted to announce the signing of former Welling United and Greenwich Borough striker Kaka Dembele. 


Kaka, who can also play in defence, has been more recently playing for Seaford Rangers in the South Australia State League One.



He will go straight into the squad for today’s game against Cray Valley PM after receiving International Clearance. 

Carlton leaves for Herne Bay....

The club can announce the departure of  midfielder Tom Carlton who has returned, on the player's request, to Herne Bay.


This has involved an undisclosed fee.


We thank Tom for his time here and wish him well for the future. 

Divine remains at Reachfields until New Year...

The club are delighted to announce that Danny Divine has extended his loan deal from Maidstone United until the New Year.


The new loan period will end after the game on New Years Day against Faversham Town. 



Flisher joins Cannons....

The club are delighted to announce the signing of striker Alex Flisher from Dartford. 


The 27 year old who can also play in midfield spent most of his career with Maidstone United before moving onto Margate and then onto Dartford. 


He will go straight into the squad for Saturday's game at home to Haywards Heath Town.  

Hythe bring in two.....

The club can announce two new experienced signings. 


Firstly, left midfielder James Rogers has joined from Margate. The 34 year old has had two spells with Dover Athletic and with Margate also spent some time with Maidstone United. 


Secondly former Welling United and Maidstone United defender Jamie Coyle has also signed on. More latterly Jamie has been joint manager at Dartford.

Hythe announce Webster as Captain....

Manager Steve Watt has announced that he has appointed Charlie Webster as the new Club Captain with Frannie Collin named as Vice-Captain. 


Good luck to both Charlie and Frannie in their new roles.....

Hythe release two.....

Hythe Town can announce this evening the release of two players as both goalkeeper Ryan Nicholls (Pictured) and defender Ryan Cooper have departed Reachfields. 


We thank them both for their time with us and wish them well for the future.... 

Godmon returns to Reachfields...

The club can confirm the return of Will Godmon to Reachfields as he has today joined from Ramsgate and will go straight into the squad for tomorrow's game at Herne Bay. 


Will (pictured to the left when he was last with us) played 50 times for us in the 2017-2018 season.

Hythe sign new striker....

The club are delighted to announce the signing of experienced striker Kiernan Hughes-Mason from Barking. 


Kiernan started his career in the youth set up at Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur before making his league debut for Millwall where he played two first team games. He has had spells at a number of clubs including Cheltenham Town, Tooting & Mitcham United, Chelmsford City, Kettering Town, Grimsby Town, Welling United, Hayes & Yeading United, Maidstone United, Leatherhead, Walton Casuals, Grays Athletic and Hastings United.


He has recently spent time playing in New Zealand playing in their Premier League for Tasman United. 


We can also announce that Elliott Capel has been released and we thank him for his time here and wish him well for the future. 

Devine joins on loan.....

Danny Divine has joined us from Maidstone United on a month’s loan.


The 19-year-old defender Divine, joined Maidstone from Gillingham in the summer.

Two depart Reachfields....

There have been two players who have departed Hythe Town over the last couple of days. 


Adam Woollcott (pictured) and Liam Quinn have been released and we thank them for their short time at Reachfields and wish them all the best for the future. 


There are a couple of new signings in the pipeline and we will confirm via facebook when we have any breaking news....

Steve Watt announces new backroom team.....

Hythe Town are delighted to announce that new manager Steve Watt has appointed two new members of his backroom staff.


Nathan Elder joins us from Sittingbourne FC as the new Assistant Manager. Nathan has a wealth of experience in football being a player at Brentford, Shrewsbury Town, Dover Athletic and Tonbridge Angels amongst others. Since retiring from playing he has been assistant at Sittingbourne.


Paul Booth arrives at Reachfields as the new first team coach. Paul also has vast experience as a player at places such as Maidstone United where he also started his coaching career.



We welcome both Nathan and Paul to the club.  

New Manager announced....

Hythe Town are delighted to announce the appointment of Steve Watt as First Team Manager. Steve has had an illustrious playing career starting at Chelsea where he played for the first team. He also represented Barnsley, Swansea City, Inverness Caledonian Thistle, Ross County, Grimsby Town, Dover Athletic, Maidstone United and Hastings United.


He has had various managerial roles since retiring as a player, with the latest being at Margate where as manager he was close to qualifying for the play-offs to the National Conference South.


Chairman Paul Markland “We had many applicants for the role and many were stand out candidates. We are delighted to have secured the services of Steve Watt, an ambitious and experienced manager and football man who we believe will get our promotion push back on track.”


Steve Watt said, “I am excited to join an ambitious club who I believe has great potential for the future. I think that there are great days ahead for Hythe Town FC and I believe we can achieve our goals.”


Steve will be assembling his coaching team over the next few days and we will update you as we get more news.



Steve will take charge of the home Velocity Trophy game on Tuesday evening (10th September 2019) against Whitstable Town. 

Club Statement....

Following the heavy defeat at Faversham Town on Tuesday evening and a string of disappointing performances and losses the Board have to announce that Sam Denly has decided to resign his position as Manager of Hythe Town FC.


Sam has been a very popular and friendly face around Reachfields since his appointment in 2017 and none of us wanted this time to arrive.



Those wishing to be considered for the vacancy should forward their names in confidence to the Secretary by e-mail at by 10pm on Friday September 6th.  Shortlisted applicants will then be advised on Saturday and should then be able to attend an interview process at a designated local place and time on Sunday September 8th 2019. 

Simpson signs for Cannons....

Hythe Town are delighted to announce the signing of Aaron Simpson from Gillingham. 


The 20-year-old attacking midfielder was on loan at Margate the season before last and turned down a new contract at Priestfield this summer. He did play two EFL Trophy games for the first team at Gillingham. 


He did play a couple of games for us in pre-season and has now decided his immediate future is at Reachfields.

Two keepers commit for the new season.....

Goalkeeper, Ryan Nicholls has signed for the new season from Dartford. Ryan spent a short time with us on loan from Dartford last season playing six games.


During his time with the Darts, Ryan had a number of loans periods including spells with Chatham Town, Hastings United, Aveley, Dartford, and Hollands & Blair.


Also, young keeper Alistair Carney has signed as cover for Ryan. 

Brown joins the Cannons.....

Hythe Town are delighted to announce the signing of midfielder Alex Brown from Margate. Brown started his career at Gillingham. During that time, he had loan spells with Whitstable Town, Corby Town and Maidstone United.  He was then to sign permanently with the Stones. He then went on loan to Leatherhead and made the move permanent in January 2016. He then joined Dartford before joining Margate at the start of last season.



Also, two of last season’s players, Tom Walmsley and Elliott Capel have committed to the club for next season. 

Mitch Dickenson goes to Hemel.....

Defender, Mitch Dickenson last night signed for National League South, Hemel Hempstead Town.  


Mitch played 90 games for us over the last two years scoring three times.

Blewden joins the Cannons.....

Hythe Town are delighted to announce the latest signing for the new campaign as 28-year old experienced striker Luke Blewden has joined from Lewes for whom he had two spells and played 38 games last season.



He has also spent time twice with Tonbridge Angels and has also played for Crawley Down Gatwick, Folkestone Invicta and Sittingbourne in his early career. 

Another new signing ......

The club can announce another player who has committed to the Cannons for 2019-2020 as central defender, Ben Fitchett has signed for the new season. Ben joins us from Margate with whom he came through the ranks. He also had a short spell with Erith Town.


He joins Frannie Collin (pictured with Secretary Martin Giles signing his forms for Hythe on Saturday afternoon), Chris Kinnear, Sid Sollis, Ryan Cooper, Charlie Webster, Ollie Rowe and Tom Carlton who have already committed for the new season.

New signings at Reachfields......

The club are delighted to announce two more signings for the new season.


First experienced striker, Frannie Collin has joined us from Margate. He started his career with Gillingham where he made nine first team appearances before moving onto Dover Athletic. He has also had spells with Tonbridge Angels, Maidstone United, Leatherhead and Hastings United.



Also joining is former Cannon Ryan Cooper. A Left Back, Ryan comes to us from Canterbury City for whom he joined last season from Faversham Town. He started his career in the Dartford Academy. He then joined Leatherhead before he signed for Faversham Town.  He was with us in season 2013-2014 when he played 29 games. He also had spells with Folkestone Invicta, Sittingbourne, and Maidstone United.

Sollis joins permanently.....

The club can announce that, following a successful loan period last season, a deal has been agreed with Margate FC for striker Sid Sollis to sign permanently for Hythe Town for the forthcoming season. Sid has had two spells with us on loan playing 38 times and scoring 13 goals.



We can also advise that coach Steve Nolan has left the club due to other commitments. Joining the management team is former Tonbridge Angels and Herne Bay player Lee Browning who was forced to retire from playing two years ago following a nasty head injury.

The club are delighted to confirm that four players have already committed to the club for next season.


Chris Kinnear, Ollie Rowe, Tom Carlton and Charlie Webster have all signed for season 2019/2020.
