Farewell Tas, Welcome Dan
It is farewell to Taser Hassan, the popular winger has agreed to a move to fellow Ryman South side, Hastings United, following an approach from new Hastings manager, former Hythe Town player, Terry White.
Tas is one of several players who have recently opted for a fresh start away from Reachfields, as manager Scott Porter continues to rebuild his side after a difficult third season in the Ryman South division.
So it is thank you and good luck to Tas, and an immediate welcome to his replacement in the squad, twenty-four year old midfielder, Dan Stubbs.
Dan joined up with the squad and was a second-half substitute in the disappointing home defeat to Walton & Hersham. However in his first start in a Hythe shirt, he played a key role in Saturday's impressive 4-0 win at Corinthian-Casuals.
Dan started off his career as a member of Ebbsfleet United’s successful Youth League scheme, before a spell on loan at fellow Ryman South side, Whitstable Town in 2007.
He then signed for Margate, and has had a couple of spells at Maidstone United, including being part of last season's Ryman South play-off winners' squad.
Dan has also played for KA Akureyri in Iceland's 2nd tier, and has also had a spell at Dover. The versatile youngster has already shown he can play in a variety of roles across midfield.
So it is farewell and good luck to Tas, and a welcome to Reachfields to Dan!
