Harvey & Cloke Commit
Hythe Town FC are delighted to confirm the signing of our former player, Laurence Harvey. Laurence re-signs from Whitstable Town, where he has been impressing in the centre of defence for the two and a half seasons since he left Reachfields.
In other big news for Hythe supporters, Craig Cloke has also committed ahead of the 2014/15 season and will captain Tim Dixon’s side. Tim knows Clokey from his days at Dover, where he was a big favourite with the Crabble fans.
Speaking last night, Tim said “Clokey is a really important signing for us, he has been on the radar of other clubs, but has stayed loyal to Hythe and will play an important part in the progression of our younger players."
"His leadership skills are second to none and we have two players in Laurence Harvey & Lee Pleau that will benefit from his experience."
Having signed with us during our first season in the Ryman South, Laurence Harvey made sixteen appearances, before leaving to join the Oysterboys in January 2012.
The young defender first broke into Ryman football at Ashford Town and also includes Sittingbourne on his CV. The highlight of his short footballing career was his time at Maidstone United during their first campaign in the Ryman Premier.
Everybody at the club will be thrilled to see a player return to Reachfields who both impressed and was missed following his first short spell with us, welcome back Laurence! Of course, we are also all delighted that Clokey will be back in a Hythe shirt next season!
