Harvey Completes Strikeforce
Hythe Town FC are delighted to confirm that striker, Luke Harvey, will be joining the club following his final game for Faversham Town this Saturday (29th). Luke, 28, is a highly-rated forward
who has been top scorer for the previous two seasons at the Lilywhites.
He will be known to regular followers of the Cannons as he has had many decent performances and scored many goals against us over the years. Prior to his time in the Ryman South with Faversham he was the captain of the Kent League winning Herne Bay side that did battle with us for several years as the clubs battled for promotion.
Hythe Town 1st Team Manager, Tim Dixon said - “I am extremely pleased to announce the signing of Luke Harvey. He has been a tremendous servant for Faversham Town and he has a great deal of respect for Ray Turner and his former club, this has been highlighted in the fact that he has agreed to stay with them until after the Folkestone game this weekend.”
He continued - “As expressed by Ray recently, he will bring a great deal to his next club and I’m pleased to say that will be Hythe Town. There have been many other Kent clubs after his signature over the last couple of weeks and he can now join the Cannons and concentrate on helping us move up the league.”
Tim concluded - “Luke has been top scorer for the past two seasons at Faversham and we will give him every opportunity to continue that form at Hythe. Not only is he a very good footballer, he’s a terrific character to have around the place and will fit in with the current squad and how we want to do things in the future.”
Talking to the website this afternoon Luke said - “To be honest it's been a long two weeks deciding what club was best for me next! I've got good friends at a few clubs I've spoke to. Being
friends with Dan Eason and Rhys Lawson and hearing what they say about Hythe, I knew it was a great club like Faversham. After watching the Guernsey game on Tuesday night I was pretty sure I knew
I'd be heading to Reachfields.
He added - “After a couple of days thinking about it, the thought of playing in the same team as players that I've had some great battles with over the years also excited me! The likes of Cooky, Clokey, Thommo, Yianni and Morrish! I'm looking forward to getting stuck in and hopefully helping us continue to climb up the table.”
In other news, Under 18s striker Henry Fulcher has signed Ryman forms and goes straight into Saturday’s squad for the visit of Herne Bay. Henry is the latest player from the Hythe Stars & Stripes youth set-up to join up with the senior squad, following in the footsteps of Harry Carr, Jamie White and Simba Nyaruwa.
With Ashley Miller (eight goals in twelve appearances), Craig Thompson (three goals in the last three games), Jordan Wells and the soon to return Sam Conlon scoring regularly from wide positions, the addition of Luke and Henry now gives us an array of striking options as we look to continue our push up the division.
Welcome to the club Luke and congratulations to Henry!
