Hythe v Folkestone Scott Dance Charity Game

A great turnout at Reachfields saw a youthful Hythe firefighters side beat an ageing Folkestone firefighters side 3-0 in the Scott Dance charity game on Sunday!  An amazing total of just over £2000 was raised by the players and supporters to help Scott in his recovery!

A big thank you must go to all of those at Hythe Town Football Club in helping and making the day run so smoothly, along with all the local businesses that kindly donated towards the raffle.

It is hoped that this can become an annual charity event at the football club with firefighters raising money for local charities and playing for the Roy Punton Memorial Trophy. Thanks once again for everybody’s support!

Scott Dance was a serving member of Hythe Fire Station for many years before serving at Folkestone and eventually the training team. During his time at Hythe he experienced a severe back injury at the flooding incident at Black Bull Road, Folkestone. After several back operations Scott is now on long-term sick and attending Stoke Mandeville Hospital for intense therapy.
