New Squad Beginning To Settle
There have been plenty of comings and goings at Reachfields in the past few weeks as Scott gradually finalises his squad for the long season ahead, with Tommy Osborne currently on loan with us from Maidstone United.
By now most regulars at Reachfields will be aware of the anticipated return of Taser Hassan. The winger is hoping to get international clearance through any day now following his time in Turkey towards the end of last season.
Joining us from Folkestone Invicta is Luke Webb, Luke made his debut in the home game with Whitstable Town, and is a flexible player who can fill a number of positions.
Finally, young goalkeeper Connor O’Hara has joined the club as understudy to Dan Eason, and has previous experience at professional clubs including Portsmouth and Arsenal.
Previous understudy Tom Elliott has now moved on and nobody at the club would deny the loyal youngster the chance to find some first team football, Tom was so reliable last season with over forty unused substitute appearances.
Another loyal squad man has moved on to a new challenge, George Savage made thirty-five appearances for us last season. However over half of those appearances were as substitute, we wish George well as he seeks regular first-team football.
For those who are unaware, winger Jake Hobbs left the club in the summer due to new work commitments, whilst the long-serving Lee Winfield is taking a break from football, and a return is likely to be at Ashford United, now of the Southern Counties East League, formerly the Kent League.
Finally, Ashley Porter, brother of Scott, is not currently with us after a couple of promising seasons in our Ryman South squad.
Hythe Town FC would like to thank all of those who have left the club for their efforts in the last couple of years, and welcome those who are joining us at Reachfields.
