Sam Bewick Moves On
Tim Dixon has confirmed that Sam Bewick has decided to move to Whitstable Town, ahead of the 2015/16 season.
The 22 year old rejoined the Cannons for a second spell in February and played fifteen games during his second spell for the club.
But the former Tonbridge, Maidstone, Herne Bay and Faversham man has agreed to team up with new Oystermen boss Will Graham at The Belmont.
Sadly, it seems that the young midfielder has decided to move on due to being asked to cover different positional duties for the team during our ongoing injury problems of the 2014/15 season.
Talking to Steve Tervet of Kent Online, Tim said - "We put a lot of faith in Sam but he’s been told by Whitstable he’s going to be playing where he wants to play.
He wanted to play in central midfield for us but I couldn’t promise him that week in, week out. He’s moved on for footballing reasons. It’s a bit of a shame because he’s young enough to be part of what we’re trying to do here but I want players who want to be at this club.
I’m one of those guys, and maybe it goes against me, but if a player wants to go, you go. Good luck to him. I won’t keep chasing someone. If someone thinks he can do better elsewhere I won’t hold them back. It’s like Ashley Miller when he went to Folkestone."
