Hythe Town FC are delighted to confirm the signing of striker, Stuart Zanone, from Ashford United.

Stuart, 30, scored an incredible 47 goals for United last season despite missing the first 12 games of the season!

Talking to the website this afternoon, a delighted Tim Dixon said - "The signing of Stuart Zanone has come at a perfect time for us and we are over the moon to be able to announce it after his contract was cancelled by Ashford.

He met up with the lads last night and will have no problem settling into the squad. He knows how we want to do things at Hythe and was the target for several clubs so I’m glad he has decided to join the Cannons.

His goalscoring record speaks for itself and I’m sure he will be a massive favourite with the Hythe faithful. We are all really looking forward to working with Stuart and we hope his goals will help to turn our fortunes around."

Assistant Manager, Darren Beale added - "It is always hard to sign players of the quality of Stuart to the club, especially when we are placed (at the moment) as low in the league.

I'm just glad that Stuart could see the potential of the squad that we are trying to put together and the type of football that we are playing."

Stuart follows in the footsteps of Tom Scorer and Ben Jordan (brother of Bradley) who have also joined us from Ashford this week, making their debuts as second-half substitutes in Tuesday night's 1-1 draw with Guernsey.

Unfortunately, Stuart will be cup-tied for this Saturday's crucial FA Cup fixture with Chessington & Hook United, but will go straight into the squad for the big Bank Holiday Monday (31st) derby at Folkestone Invicta, kick-off 3pm.

However, on Saturday, fellow striker Rene Rivera will be looking to continue his excellent start to the season, having scored within a minute of his first competitive start on Tuesday.

Welcome to the Cannons Stuart!
