Hythe Town FC are delighted to announce the signing of Tom Hickman. Scott sees the midfielder and long-term target as a key signing, with fellow new signing Sam Bewick sidelined for the majority of the season with a knee injury.

Tom arrives at Reachfields as a familiar face, as he was the captain of Faversham Town when they became Kent League Champions the year before ourselves, he enjoyed some tremendous battles in midfield with his new skipper, Dave Cook.

The box-to-box midfielder, aged 31, arrives from Ramsgate, having made ten Ryman South appearances for our Kent rivals last season. His former clubs also include Margate and Dover. Talking to Andrew Gidley, Scott said - “I tried to sign him last season but it didn’t happen. His experience and ability as a box-to-box player will suit us."

Tom has been a key performer in the last two pre-season fixtures, our 1-1 draw at Lydd, and our first win of the season on Tuesday, when a Dave Cook penalty was the difference over a Tonbridge Angels side.

His arrival, along with the return of Ronnie Dolan also gives Scott the option of playing a midfield diamond that will really take some breaking down, in what will be a tough and wide open Ryman South division.

Welcome to the club Tom!
