Yianni Returns To Reachfields

Hythe Town FC can confirm the return to Reachfields of the versatile Michael Yianni. The experienced midfielder moved to our neighbours, Folkestone Invicta, around eleven months ago.

After playing a major part in Neil Cugley's side ending the season second in the Ryman South Division, he has found himself on the fringes at Cheriton Road this season, following the return to form of Michael Everitt and the re-signing of the experienced Darren Smith.

Michael's first spell at the club was when he followed Manager Paul Fisk from Folkestone Reserves in the 2002/3 season, making his debut on 30th November 2002, away to Deal Town in the Kent Senior Trophy. Eighteen appearances and a debut goal followed, however midway through the next season his dribbling style caught the eye of ambitious (and then with us in the Kent League) Maidstone United.

He returned for a second spell with us at the start of the 2004/5 season, with thirty-six appearances and four goals making it a successful return. Following that season Michael spent time at Ramsgate, Margate, Folkestone and Whitstable, but he returned again in October 2009 to play as a centre-forward, and enjoyed his most prolific time at Reachfields with twelve goals in twenty-five appearances. His final spell with us before the move to Invicta began in January last year with twenty-nine appearances and four goals.

Welcome back to the club Michael...
